FAQ!

How much should I be saving up for my portrait session?
Most of our senior portrait clients invest anywhere from $800 up on portrait products, and often love their
images so much they spend significantly more than that.  Family portrait clients typicallyinvest $1500 and up on portrait products from their session.  Payment plans are also available.

Do you keep image files after my session?
We keep all files that are purchased from your session.  We do not archive unordered images once the ordering process is complete.  We take a lot of pictures and the file space adds up!

Do you provide digital files?
We provide digital files, at social-media-sharing size, of all portraits purchased from your session.  Our goal is to provide you with beautiful, heirloom-quality portrait products, physical pieces to hang on your wall or display in your home.  Digital files, more often than not, end up in a drawer unused, or stuck on a hard-drive somewhere (which itself won't last for more than a few years) ...or are printed without the professional quality we guarantee in every piece that leaves the studio.  DVDs in a drawer or files on your computer won't make you smile the same way a beautiful portrait on your wall will!

What happens during our pre-session consultation appointment?
We will talk over the style of portrait you're looking for, whether in-studio, on-location, high-key, low-key, formal, casual, edgy, modern, traditional, etc.  We'll go over suggestions to insure the best possible portrait, including wardrobe, how to prepare for your session, hair and makeup advice, as well as reassure you if you feel like you don't photograph well (you're not alone!) -- that's our job, to make you comfortable and looking your best.  We'll also go over the ordering process and show you samples of the different products available, from albums to frames and canvases.

When is payment due?
Your session fee is required to reserve your session.  50% of your payment for portrait products is due at your ordering session, with balance due on delivery.

Why is there a minimum order on senior sessions?
We request a minimum investment on senior sessions in order to be able to provide a consistent level of creativity and quality to each customized appointment.  Our choices of location, lighting, and styling are customized to each individual senior, and a minimum investment allows us to give each client the time and energy this requires.

What if I get sick the day before the shoot?
Your session reservation ensures that we are available and ready to go on your reserved day.  If for some unforeseen reason you are not able to attend your session, please contact us at least 24-48 hours prior to your appointment.  Session fees are not refundable; however in the event of a canceled session with 24-hours notice, you may reschedule your date for another appointment within 6 months of your original.

What happens at the ordering appointment?
We'll show you a beautiful slide-show of your edited images and help you through the selection process.  It's a
fun meeting, but also requires some focus, so we respectfully request that small children not be brought along
if at all possible, as it's both not fun for them, and also stressful for parents trying to do double duty, making careful decisions about portrait choices.  We request that all decision-makers be present for this appointment, as we will be placing all orders at this time.

How long will it take to get my portraits?
Quality takes time!  Each purchased image gets carefully custom-retouched and optimized, and our lab takes care to pay attention to every detail in printing and mounting.  Typically, unframed portraits can be ready within a couple weeks from your ordering session; framed prints take up to 6 weeks for delivery.
